The âBigg Bossâ series has off late attracted my attention and I look forward to watching it daily. I had almost left watching television literally, but I must say that the promotion or the time of this serial prompted me to take this risk of putting in my time to such an activity. Of what I gather from the Internet, it is an adaptation of âBig Brotherâ which debuted seven years ago in Netherlands. Of course, the series has been suitably ‘Indianised’.
In recent times, the television audience has been bombarded with the too much of such reality TV shows such as Indian Idol, Fame Gurukul and so on, but this one for sure has a different flavour to it. To start with it is not a talent show that is based on selection of the best rather it is a it is a reality show that is based on elimination of the weakest. That is what that drew my attention to it.
Quite surprisingly, the small time celebrities are playing their part well. Be it Kashmira Shah who is biching around to Ravi Kishen who is using his acting prowess to add humour to everything he does, they are trying their best to get all the media attention to promote their careers. But sometimes it seems that the Sony TV has pre-planned everything just to boost their TRPâs. What if they are being paid on a weekly basis for the show, the prize money being a separate part of the whole process. I am saying this because the romance between Aryan and Anu seems all cooked up, and it seems that Ravi is pretending as if he is having a tough time listening to all the gyan from Deepak Tijori. The Exit of Booby Darling and Deepak Parashar has made the series even more interesting. Deepak was thinking that if he is making a cup of tea for everyone in the morning he would never be voted out. Funny, isn’t it?
Some guys are feeling so home sick and emotional that they are on the verge of crying. And who can ignore Rakhi Sawant, the girl with all the oomph washing clothes. Then there is Roopali who is behaving as if she is acting in a TV soap like âKahani Ghar Ghar kiâ where she has to cry everyday whatever the reason might be. Carol is so tomboyish that poor guys have to request him not to enter into their room.
But at the end of the day itâs all about being smart rather than being a doormat or extremely aggressive. Itâs all a part of a game. And remember it’s a team game and not a chess championship. And fifty lakhs would drive anyone to do things quite unexpected of them. What sayâŠ

Hmm, blogging regularly these days. Good.
Ye, this show is on my fav list also. I follow it regularly.
The group of ppl are failures in their own fields, and are definitely trying to maul up their flagging careers. But the bunch of ppl, knowingly or unknowingly have made a good mix.
Ppl like Kashmira Shah are an example of bitching.Sometimes they make me wonder whether all is cooked up, but at times things dont seem so. Even then, I feel some things are staged, or perhaps they have been given some line of action to work upon without the actual scripts.
All in all, interesting stuff.

I agree that these people have sort of faded out in their respective fields…but at least they should behave keeping in mind tha they are still celebrities. As the show is progressing everyone’s behavious seems to be deteriorating barring a few who are able to retain composure in the maddening circumstances. Even the guys have now resorted to bitching about each other. The girls are always on the egde. Sometimes the tasks become boring and i suppose the big boss is also short of suitable tasks for the inmates. However, the serial still has the zing somewhere and that’s why i am still glued to it!
