Read on another blog whether blogging is the right way to pour your heart out to public…The debate continues whether blogs are just a personal expression or a way to make money. Well, my opinion on this is that blogging is becoming a very popular way of earning money and i am saying it from my own experience. So it doesn’t matter whether you write about your personal experiences or something of public importance or about the current news floating around the world, the important thing is to update your blog with fresh content as much as possible. This might not give you the returns in the short term but definitely you will strike gold in long term.
The first and foremost thing you can do is to make your blog easy on the eyes and accessible to everyone. Web accessibility is an important issue and you have to be careful that your blog follows the accessibility guidelines. Making your website or blog accessible means that even the disabled people can easily access the content on your blog. Therefore, you have to keep in mind the colors, font size and so on for this purpose.
The second aspect is analyzing user behavior. If you have Google Analytics installed on your blog, then it will serve the purpose. Once you know what the users are looking for, you can work towards providing them the same. Check out which keywords are important, from which location the users are coming from most and then try working on those lines. Optimizing your blog or website based on user behavior is the most important aspect of achieving success. You have to write SEO friendly content to attract visitors to your site. The content should be interesting to read as nobody wants to go through the boring stuff.
The next step is to install Google Adsense on your blog or website for generating revenue. Adsense is a utility by Google which works on the pay-per-click basis. It generates the ads based on the keywords in the content. If you keep updating your blog with fresh content, this will for sure bring money to your bank account though slowly but steadily.
You have to also work on promoting your blog or website through squirrel marketing, i.e. posting about your blog on forums and other blogs. In addition, you can submit your blog to various online directories. These efforts will for sure lead to increase in traffic.
Another option is to blog for someone else. As i have started freelancing recently, i have come across people who are willing to pay $15-20 for a high-quality article for their blog. If you have a passion for writing, and wish to earn some money as well this is a perfect option. But remember only quality stuff is appreciated. Any crap won’t do.
Hope this article can inspire people to take up blogging as a hobby and those who rarely blog can start afresh with renewed energy. I can bet that it is better than watching those drab TV serials. But a bit of planning and monitoring would be required for creating and maintaining an effective blog.
