If you have a web site it is necessary that you maintain it too otherwise what is the point of having it. This goes with most of the things in our life, be it material things or relationships. There is no point of keeping things in a hang up mode. Just imagine if you have a clock at home which is not working then one day you will wonder why is it on the wall…or in our intrusive society others will definitely comment on it. So you would think that either i should get it repaired or should throw it away!

Coming back to the web site, the same monotonous look and feel bores me but for my hubby the functionality part is more important. I want to have an extraordinary image on my blog but he would be okay with some pattern only! Poor me, i will look for explanations in an image while he would be happy with the quality of his shot. That is why they say that Men are from Mars and women from Venus, and believe me it is better that way!!

Today when we sat down together to modify Gutfeel, he did ask me to visit several websites from which themes can be downloaded. I shortlisted four five and he also did the same but we finally decided on creating our own theme. I took upon myself the task of searching a good image on flickr.com. I browsed the site religiously through the tags provided but didn’t find a good image to match with the site theme we had selected. I searched through the pics of various cities and countries, but none of them excited me enough. Chicago was all skyscrapers, Japan was mostly full of Japanese people, dolls and local buildings while England had the pics of poultry farms and landscapes all of which i found uninteresting and old. I could not notice any newness and vitality in the pictures. I was about to give up the exercise when an idea flashed in my mind and hubby dear seconded it. I thought that we will search our own pool of pics which either hubby or myself had taken on trips to various places across the world – mostly him though – i have only been abroad once, but yes i did visit many places. So we picked up an image which he had clicked from Pier 39 of San Fransisco. He had clicked it very aesthetically keeping the panoramic view in mind. Finally, he cropped the pic and integrated it in theme we had selected. Phew!! After so much research and experimentation, we finally gave the existing look and feel to Gutfeel. So now i can proudly say that with the effort of both of us the clock on our wall has started working again and i am loving it!
