It’s after a long time that I got sometime to blog more so because of my work which is increasing by the day. But it does not hinder me from enjoying simple pleasures of life. Thankfully! Yesterday was Karwa Chauth, a festival of north Indian women which I celebrated with great zeal. Got my hands and feet hennaed, got all decked up for the puja, and yes clicked snaps.

I also kept the fast whole day and you have to see the moon to break the fast. But it played spoilsport. At around 8.30 PM, the television news channel declared that the moon is visible in Mumbai. But I could not see it till around 9.20 PM. Blamed the high rises for that. Anyway, the fasting taught me that I work really well empty stomach. There were many deliverables which I completed on time.

I have a daughter and I love her vvery much. Here is a little poem for her and all the lovely daughters on this daughter’s day!

A precious little flower
that is in constant bloom
I watch as yet another milestone
around the corner looms.
It seems like only yesterday
that we shared a breath
but now it seems like tomorrow
you will leave and I’ll be left.
A tiny little angel
that always is in flight
as soon as you came into my life
you brought me so much light.
Your beauty is so stunning
your smile makes me melt
I’m so proud to be your mommy
It’s the best I’ve ever felt.
Oh perfect little princess
with you I’m so in love
every night before I dream
I thank the lord above.
How did I get so lucky
to have as sweet of a gift as you
If ever you should need me
there’s nothing I wouldn’t do.

Sheena Iyengar

Sheena Iyengar

Yesterday, read an article about Sheena Iyengar, who is blind by birth but has come up with a book. The interviewer was asking different types of  questions, but this lady stuck to her stance. An inpiring story I must say. Am looking forward to purchase the book “Art of Choosing”. I simply liked her answer when being asked why did she take up her husband’s name as surname. All she said was that it was a politically correct choice!

For countries, shopping is no big deal… anyone can do it but in India, we

APTOPIX Colombia Plane CrashA Boeing 737 jetliner crashed due to lightening and thunderstorm in Bagota, Colombia. It had 131 people overboard and only one person died. This is being termed as a miracle by Times of India newspaper. Although the plane broke into three pieces – as depicted in the  picture on the left – all but one passengers survived thankfully.

I am slightly annoyed by the way the TOI is carrying the news. They are stating it as ‘It was a miracle only one person died’. Having worked in the content field myself, I am surprised to read that such reputed newspapers can write reports/articles even without editing them properly. But, what to say they have got only one day to paint the 22 page newspaper green…

Any opinions on this… all comments are appreciated…

Went to local Big Bazaar (supermarket) today for grocery shopping. I like shopping so I always look forward to it whether it is grocery, clothes, shoes, bags, and so on. But today at BB, a salesman selling Active brand of juices stopped me midway and asked me to taste the juice and provide some feedback. I was a bit annoyed as I was busy looking at apples, oranges, maggi, milk, oil, wheat flour and so on… But politely, I said that I do not wish to taste but if he wishes, I can provide the feedback. A bit relieved, the salesman gave me the feedback form and I had to write my name and phone number. Excitedly, I started to write but he interrupted and told me that madam, you if you give the phone number, you will receive smses from Bipasha Basu(she is a Bollywood celebrity) or someone on her behalf…
