Got up today thinking about Rouvanjit, the 13 yr old who was studying at the prestigious 
school, who committed suicide after being caned by the principal. Today the news is that they have banned the cane but the principal refuses to step down! As a parent myself, I am feeling extremely sad and disgusted that such archiac methods of instilling discipline are still in use.
I am scared too coz the parents don’t know what happens inside the school! Maybe such schools should get a lesson in child psycology. The teachers should be taught how to deal with the students as they are very sensitive at such a tender age. Faults like coming late to school or not completing the homework should be brought to the notice of parents if it happens regularly. Otherwise things should be sorted out with the child in an amicable manner.
My heart goes out to the family of Rouvanjit. Their child cannot come back, whatever may happen. But the true justice to this case would be to put the principal behind the bars. He has done something which is unpardonable. I hope strict action is taken by the authorities and he should not be let off with a minor punishment!
