Yesterday saw Smita Thackery at Phoenix Mills. Thought should blog it. She was roaming around in trousers and shirt with five six body guards around her and walking as if she is the president of India. People were hardly noticing her, and those like me who noticed her were because of her body guards. I don’t know why she needs such a high security. So much of money must be being spent on the salaries of those guards. Anyway, to each his own. Also saw a very vigilant family on my way to Croma. The lady was a little annoyed as she saw that the bags of the people were not being checked at that entrance. In the wake of all that has happened in Bombay, it was an act of an informed and assertive citizen. I liked the husband who supported her wife while the son looked on. The irony of the situation is that while people like Smita Thackery are being provided with utmost security, common people like us who are willing to co-operate have to bear the brunt of lackadaisical security arrangements. The security levels at hotels might have increased a bit but at common public places, it is still a big problem.
